Kell vs. Lassiter Alumni Game
Spend a pleasant afternoon watching the first in
hopefully a long-running annual tradition of alumni games. This year Kell alumni from past teams will
travel to Lassiter HS to take on returning Trojans. Come out and support your Kell
alumni. Once a Longhorn always a
Longhorn ! Game is on Saturday May
16th at 4:00 PM at Lassiter Stadium.
Booster Board Nominations
Your booster still has openings for new board members
for next season. Each year the board
needs new recruits due to normal attrition.
This is your chance to step up and participate. If you would like to see improvements in
any aspects of the booster club operation, this is the best way to
contribute. Please contact a board
member for info. Thanks !

Soccer Bids Farewell to Coach Pat Goeckel
After seven seasons at the helm of the Kell Longhorn
Soccer program, we are sad to announce that Mens Varsity Head Coach Pat
Goeckel has decided to step down from coaching at the conclusion of the
2009 season. The Kell Soccer Program
would like to recognize all the accomplishments our teams have achieved
under the mentorship of Coach Goeckel.
We wish him well with his future plans. Coach, you will be missed.

A
WORD OF THANKS
Kell
Soccer would like thank our Principal, Athletic Director, BJ’s
representative, the players, coaches, volunteers, and fans (both home and
AHS) for supporting our Senior Night games and activities. With the weather conditions threatening
the entire evening we were fortunate to complete a soggy but memorable
Senior Night. Good luck to all
Seniors !
New photos and videos posted! Thanks to Deanna Fiveash, Tina Westee, Sherri Shade,
Jeff Williams, and Allan Jarvis for all the great action pictures and videos! We
appreciate their time. We invite volunteers
with digital cameras to snap pictures of all our teams at the games. Get some shots of the spectators also
! If you can help out, please take a
few quick pictures for us to post or link on the web site. Thanks!
Stadium Clean-up Help Needed: After each home game we are asking for your
help to pick up the trash left in the bleachers. The Booster Board members are already
working before, during, and after each home game. They need a hand. Please take 3 minutes of your time on
your way out to pick up some trash.
Many hands make light work.
Thank you.
Scrip Program Update: We have received some
questions regarding the scrip fundraiser program. Please review the
information sheet in your player’s fundraising package for more
details. You simply purchase full
face value gift certificates to use at retailers you would regularly shop
at. In return for the up front purchase of these certificates the retailers
offer a discount back to the sponsoring group. The benefit in this program is both the soccer
program and each participant split the discount 50-50. Please visit the Great Lakes Scrip
Center web site for additional information.
Concession Stand: The concession
continues to please with nightly specials to go along with the standard
fare. Plan to eat at Kell’s
Kitchen during all the home games. Enjoy the games under the lights with a
burger and Coke. The concession stand work list is
now available. Please check the
schedule for your assigned games.

While
the coaches and players are working hard with practices and conditioning
your booster club is active behind the scenes making sure the facilities
and equipment needs of the teams and coaches are met. Please become active in the soccer
program as there is a place and opportunity for everyone to join in. It will be appreciated. It’s all about making the experience for
the kids memorable.
